About Trudy

Trudy is a Certified Financial Planner® who specialises in personal and business risk protection & management. Her vast experience is in consultancy to Boards of Trustees of private (standalone) retirement funds, client services to financial advisors, and direct financial advisory to individuals and businesses.

Being analytical and attentive to detail, she gives each client personalised proposals which may include; financial needs analysis, risk benefit rating & qualitative comparisons, and clear actionable recommendations. Her passion for connecting with clients on a personal level allows her to understand their needs, wants, goals and fears – and this also guides her in her financial planning process.

Trudy is a mother to two little girls. Motherhood gives her a deep desire to help her clients protect their legacies from poor financial advice and lack of action from themselves.

My Career

My financial services career started in 2010 with Alexander Forbes Consultants & Actuaries as an Employee Benefits Consultant. I moved to Absa Consultants & Actuaries and finally, Liberty Corporate.

I successfully completed the Regulatory Exam (RE5) and Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning Law in 2011. In 2012 I became a member of the Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa, and I continue to be a Certified Financial Planner®.

In September of 2016 I joined Mduduzi in starting Luthuli Capital. I have been responsible for the administrative and client services divisions in the business. In December 2017, I decided to return to an advisory role as my value proposition is strong and adds value to our current and future clients.
